The Walled Garden in Dundrum, Co. Dublin is a resi The Walled Garden in Dundrum, Co. Dublin is a residential apartment development of 144 apartments, completed in 2022. The site of the apartment development is within the stone enclosing walls of the historic walled garden associated with the house that was originally known as Gortmore, constructed in mid-1850s.
Positioned adjacent and outside of the enclosing walls of the Walled Garden itself, the stable yard is arranged in a four sided courtyard, three sides formed by narrow stone buildings, with pitched roof forms and the fourth side enclosed with a stone wall and gated entrance.

As part of the wider residential development, was proposed the restoration and repurposing of these stone buildings to convert them to amenity use for the new residents, with mix of uses including residential management and concierge, lounge space, co-working & meeting space, gym and associated service spaces.

The site is prominent, siting within the terrace a The site is prominent, siting within the terrace at Percy Place at the perpendicular Grand Canal bridge junction leading to Mount Street Crescent and St Stephens Church, colloquially known as ‘The Pepper Canister Church’.

Pre-existing on site was a two storey mid-century detached dwelling, formerly owned by Waterways Ireland and in disrepair. The redevelopment infilled and joined the adjacent 4-storey terraces with a new apartment building containing 8 new apartments.

We have recently completed a refurbishment and mod We have recently completed a refurbishment and modernisation of a Protected Structure in Dublin city centre.
No. 5 Dame lane was constructed circa 1906 to designs by Bachelor & Hicks Architects. The 4-storey over basement building was constructed as an extension to the earlier Hely Printworks Building and is included in the Record of Protected Structures on account of the early use of the Hennebique reinforced concrete construction system. Plus Architecture were engaged to refurbish the building to current office standards including the insertion of an entirely new stair, lift and toilet core.
